Mlle Caroline as Columbine – Set of 4 cards

Thank teachers and congratulate young dancers with these delightful greeting cards!

Perfect for birthdays and thank you messages, this set of 4 greeting cards depict the Paris Opera’s Caroline Lassiat playfully dressed as Columbine. Did you know that Columbines often featured in Victorian Christmas pantomimes. We think that makes her an excellent card for sending Christmas wishes too!

Caroline Lassiat entered the Paris Opera Ballet in 1830 at the age of ten, and later danced under the name Mme Dominique-Venettozza. After her stage career, Caroline became a leading teacher, counting many of the Paris Opera Ballet’s most celebrated dancers among her students, including Emma Livry, Giuseppina Bozzacchi (the first Coppelia) and Rita Sangalli.
